AIPS Awards longlist for Factor Two and 3 Climbing Stories Shortlisted

Factor Two was longlisted in the International Sports Press Association’s Awards for Audio this year.
There are also 3 other climbing stories which were shortlisted in the writing categories.
- Natalie Berry, the Editor-in-Chief at UKClimbing, was shortlisted for her piece on how lego can be used to aid blind climbers with route reading.
- Ari Sneider wrote a piece for the New York Times about the interesting rivalry between Slovenian Olympic hopefuls Mia Krampl and Lucka Rakovec.
- Wufei Yu wrote about the rock climbing in China in the context anti-Chinese sentiment brought about by the Coronavirus, for Outside Magazine.
What’s interesting about these stories for me is that they all stand on their own – they happen to be about climbing, but they’re actually about something more than that. That’s the way we should want our stories to be.
